This idea sprang from the improvised parts of our live set and then the global lockdown. Wouldn't it be good to make music together from our various corners of the world, to extend that invitation to whoever else wanted to be involved and to create a huge collage that was completely open ended. We have a record out soon called 'Annual' that begins in the winter, passes through spring on 'Flourish', then to summer, autumn and eventually back to winter, so we've used that idea as the seed of these improvisations.

Here's how to contribute...

Step One -
Download these songs

Step Two -
Either drag them all into garageband/protools or just one track if you prefer

Step Three -
Record your own half hour. Play whatever instrument you like but keep in mind that the piece begins in winter and ends in winter. Or just listen, play along, meditate, whatever

Step Four -
Upload your own track to your own bandcamp or send it to modernnatureuk@gmail.com

Here's how to listen...

Step One -
Download these songs

Step Two
You could drag all the songs into garageband/protools and make your own mix, altering the levels as you see fit. But the idea behind these tracks is that they can be played individually or all at the same time so... go to step three.

Step Three -
Download different tracks onto as many devices as you can, place the different devices in different parts of your house and press play on all of them at different times making your own surround sound chamber. It doesn't matter if you can't press play at the same time... the pieces will interact with each other differently every time.
